Reflecting on Relaxation
Sunday is here again and another week has whizzed by. I suddenly realised that I have barely been out of the house this week, so focused have I been on trying to get a major project completed. It has just been work, eat, sleep, work, eat, sleep ….
So that got me thinking about the need for relaxation and down time, and I came up with some affirmations and thoughts to reflect on (while I’m relaxing of course)
I take time for relaxation.
My days are full of activities, people, conversations, and lists of things to do. Even though I might not achieve everything I would like to today, I am still comfortable with carving out some time for relaxation.
When I relax, it gives my mind time and space to let go of all the stress of the day.
I see relaxing as one of the most important things I do for my own health and well-being. In addition, my rest time enables me to be successful in everything else I do every day.
I never feel guilty for taking time to relax.
Instead, I look forward to the time I have each day to relax and do whatever I want to bring regeneration to my soul. Today, I know I can truly enjoy the time I spend as ‘me’ time.
I am well aware that my cherished moments of relaxation ensure my continued health, happiness, and success in life.
The time I take relaxing is necessary for my very existence. I have every right to experience time for relaxation.
Ask yourself these questions:
1. Do you take time to relax every day? If not, why not?
2. How do you feel on days when you take time to relax? How do your emotions on those days compare with how you feel on days that you do not take time out for yourself?
3. What are some things you can do to ensure that you will relax at least 30 minutes each day?
