blueberry-optimisedA recent study by researchers from Harvard revealed that eating blueberries, grapes and apples reduces your chances of developing type 2 diabetes.

Three servings of fruit each week can reduce the risk by up to a third.

Blueberries were found to provide the most protective effect.

However drinking the juice of these fruits does not have the same effect and can increase your risk. This is because juicing removes the fibre and leaves the concentrated juice which is more quickly absorbed into the bloodstream, causing blood sugar and insulin levels to rise rapidly.

ACTION: If you have blood sugar issues or are pre-diabetic then start including blueberries and apples into your  diet.
